Middle Eastern Inspired Zaatar Crusted Pork Chops And Fig Jam Glaze

4 thick pork chops

2 tablespoons za’atar

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

2 tablespoons olive oil

1/2 cup fig jam

1/2 cup chicken stock (Find Recipe Here)

2 cloves fresh garlic, minced

Pat dry pork chops with paper towels. Season both sides with salt, black pepper, and the za’atar blend, pressing it onto the meat to form a crust.

In a large non-stick skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. When oil starts to shimmer, add pork chops to skillet. Sear the chops for about 4-5 minutes on each side until they achieve a golden-brown crust. Remove chops from skillet and set aside.

Add the minced garlic to the skillet, stirring for about a minute until fragrant. Add chicken stock, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the pan.

Stir the fig jam into the skillet with the chicken stock and garlic, allowing the glaze to warm through. Return cooked meat to skillet and spoon the glaze over each pork chop, until well-coated.

Transfer the pork chops to a serving platter, drizzle with any remaining fig glaze from the skillet. If desired, garnish with fresh herbs.

Consider serving with a side of roasted vegetables or a light salad for a complete meal.
