Cherry Pecan Broccoli Salad

A broccoli salad is an American classic. It’s a bright and crunchy salad that goes perfectly well anything, from lunch to brunch, as a barbecue side dish and leftovers make a great healthy snack.

The wonderful thing about broccoli salads are, their customizable. The base of the salad is raw broccoli florets, a sweet mayonnaise dressing and you build it from there.

This Cherry Pecan Broccoli Salad recipe contains crunchy broccoli, celery, sweet fresh cherries, toasted pecans, and diced juicy apples all tossed with a sweet herb dressing.



It’s an easy to make, and even better, make ahead time.

Cherry Pecan Broccoli Salad

1 head of broccoli, cut into florets, or 1 12-oz. package of florets

1 cup sweet cherries, pitted (can sub for 1/2 cup dried sweet cherries)

⅓ cup pecans, toasted, chopped

1 red apple, diced

2 celery stalks, sliced thin

1/2 cup red onion, finely chopped



FOR THE DRESSING:

½ cup mayonnaise

2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar

⅓ cup granulated sugar

¼ teaspoon celery salt

¼ teaspoon dry mustard

1/4 teaspoon dried dill

¼ teaspoon salt

¼ teaspoon ground black pepper

Combine the salad ingredients in a large bowl.

Whisk dressing ingredients together until well combined.



Add the dressing to the salad and gently toss until combined. Serve with your favorite protein or pasta dish.

The salad can be made ahead and kept in the refrigerator until ready to serve (at least within 24 hours). Leftovers will last about 4-5 days in the fridge in a air tight container.
