Honey adds a touch of sweetness and cloves add the warming spice.

Cloves are a pungent warm spice with an intense flavor and aroma.

On your palette, you can detect sweetness, bitterness and a noticeable amount of heat. Similar warm spices include nutmeg, cinnamon, and allspice.

With only 1/8th teaspoon of ground cloves the heat is sweet and calming with the addition of honey and apple cider vinegar.

Make this vinaigrette ahead of time to allow it to sit for a few hours or over night and wow what an incredible tasting dressing for any leafy green salad that contain fruit.

Some people find the flavor of cloves overwhelming and choose to leave the spice out entirely.

You need to make this vinaigrette and let it set awhile for the flavors to meld. Then you can see for yourself the awesomeness this Honey Apple Spiced Vinaigrette has.
