Cooks Notes
The addition of heavy cream to the omelet mixture significantly affects its texture. How?
Heavy cream adds a rich, velvety texture to the eggs, making the omelet more luxurious and indulgent.
The cream contributes additional moisture, preventing eggs from drying out during cooking, resulting in a tender, soft omelet.
The fat content in heavy cream can help create a lighter, fluffier omelet. When whisked with the eggs, it incorporates air, leading to a more airy texture.
The cream creates a smoother consistency, enhancing the overall mouthfeel of the omelet and making each bite more enjoyable.
Overall, heavy cream elevates the omelet’s texture, making it richer and more satisfying compared to a standard omelet made with just eggs.
Recipe Instructions
In a medium sized bowl, combine the shredded cheddar cheese with the chopped candied bacon. Set aside for later.
In another medium bowl or larger glass measuring cup, whisk together the eggs, heavy cream, and a pinch of salt and pepper until well combined.
Heat a 8-inch non-stick skillet over medium heat and add 1 tablespoon of butter, allowing it to melt and coat the pan.
Once the butter starts to sizzle, pour the egg mixture into the skillet, tilting the pan to ensure the eggs spread evenly across the surface.
As the eggs begin to set but are still slightly runny on top, spoon 1/2 cup of the cheese mixture onto the center of the omelet.
Starting with the side closest to you, use a rubber spatula and carefully fold the omelet over by one quarter. Do the same with the opposite side. Sprinkle the remaining cheese mixture (1/4 cup) over top.

Continue cooking for another minute, or until the cheese begins to melt.
Slide the omelet onto a plate. Drizzle the with hot honey for a perfect balance of sweetness and heat.
