Brown Butter With Apples Walnuts And Oatmeal
1 Honey Crisp Apple, cored, seeded, diced
1 teaspoon powdered cinnamon
1 cup walnuts, ruffly chopped
3 tablespoons brown butter
1 cup quick oats
Prepare oats according to package instructions.
In a medium skillet over medium-high heat add the brown butter.
If using brown butter in a solid state, wait for it to melt. If your brown butter is already melted, add to skillet and let come to a slight simmer, then add apples.
Stir the apples to ensure they are coated in the brown butter. Cook apples stirring occasionally, until they begin to soften, about 5 minutes. Add cinnamon, stir to combine well with apples.
Next, add the walnuts and continue cooking, stirring frequently until walnuts produce a nutty aroma, about 2-3 minutes.

Remove from heat and add apple mixture to pot of cooked oatmeal and stir to combine. Spoon oatmeal mixture between 2-3 small bowls and serve with milk or half-in-half.
