Pumpkin Spiced Whipped Cream blends the rich, airy texture of classic whipped cream, like this Homemade Whipped Cream, with warm fall flavors like pumpkin purée, cinnamon, and pumpkin spice. It’s smooth, lightly sweetened, and tastes like autumn in every spoonful.

What makes homemade whipped cream shine is its freshness. It has a cleaner flavor, more natural sweetness, and a silky texture that no store-bought topping can match.

Pumpkin Spiced Whipped Cream Recipe

2 cups heavy whipping cream, refrigerated *See Cooks Notes

1/2 cup powdered sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/4 cup pumpkin purée – canned or fresh pureed when sugar pumpkins are in season find recipe HERE

1 teaspoon cinnamon

1/2 teaspoon pumpkin spice

Before starting, avoid these common simple errors for perfect whipped cream:

Over whipping → turns whipped cream grainy or butter-like

Adding pumpkin too early → prevents peaks from forming

Using cold pumpkin purée → can create lumps

Skipping powdered sugar → reduces stability

In a medium bowl, combine heavy cream, powdered sugar, vanilla, cinnamon and pumpkin spice.

Using a hand mixer or a standing mixer with a whisk attachment, whip on medium until stiff peaks start to form. This will take 3-5 minutes.

When stiff peaks have formed, gently fold in the room temperature pumpkin puree.

Chill until ready to serve.

Cook’s Notes

Using Very Cold Cream

Cold cream (refrigerated) is essential for perfect whipped cream. When chilled properly, the fat crystals in the cream stabilize quickly, giving you that thick, cloud-like texture.

For best results
  • Chill your mixing bowl for 10 minutes (I put both beaters and a stainless steel bowl in freezer)
  • Use refrigerated cream straight from the fridge
  • Avoid working near a warm stovetop
