Why You’ll Love Them

Incredible Flavor: The signature Korean marinade infuses the pork with deep, complex tastes.

Tender & Juicy: Properly cooked pork chops are a treat, and the glaze helps keep them moist.

Visually Appealing: That sticky, glossy glaze makes these chops look as good as they taste!

Relatively Quick: Many recipes can be made in under an hour, making them weeknight-friendly.

The Heart of the Dish: The Korean Glaze & Marinade

What sets these pork chops apart is the vibrant marinade and glaze, which often share many of the same ingredients. Common components include:

Soy Sauce: The savory, umami base.

Gochujang (Korean Chili Paste): This is the secret weapon! It provides a unique sweet, savory, and mild to medium heat that’s distinctly Korean.

Sweeteners: Honey (including brown sugar) is used to create that irresistible sticky texture and balance the savory notes.

Aromatics: Fresh garlic and ginger are essential for building a robust flavor foundation.

Sesame Oil: Adds a nutty, rich aroma and taste.

Sticky Korean-Style Pork Chops

¼ cup soy sauce

2 tablespoons honey

4 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon fresh ginger, minced

1 teaspoon sesame oil

2 teaspoons gochujang paste

6 pork loin chops, 1/2 to 2 inch thick, boneless

1 tablespoon olive oil

black pepper, to taste

Preheat oven to 400 degrees.

In a medium size bowl whisk together the soy sauce, honey, garlic, ginger, sesame oil and gochujang. Pour over pork chops and let marinade for about 20 minutes.

Heat the olive oil in a large skillet for medium high heat. Add pork chops, without marinade, and cook for about 2 to 3 minutes for the first side, or until it gets a nice brownish color.

Flip the pork chops and pour the remaining marinade over them. Cook another 2 to 3 min on this side.

Place the skillet in the oven to finish cooking them. Roast for about 5 to 10 minutes, or until pork chops are completely cooked through. Internal temperature should be 145 degrees.

Remove skillet from oven. Set on stove top on high heat. Remove chops and set aside.

Bring soy sauce mixture to a rapid boil. When sauce starts to thicken place chops back into skillet and liberally coat them with sticky sauce.

Plate with your favorite vegetables or these Crispy Korean Style BBQ Brussels sprouts. Garnish with chopped cilantro.
