Spicy Honey Sriracha Glazed Chicken Cutlets
For the Chicken Cutlets
2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
Salt and pepper, to taste
2 teaspoon garlic powder, divided
3/4 cup all-purpose flour, adjust as needed
2 large eggs, beaten
Oil, for frying
For the Spicy Honey Sriracha Glaze
1/4 cup honey
3 tablespoons sriracha sauce, adjust according taste.
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1 teaspoon rice vinegar (optional for added tanginess)
1 teaspoon sesame oil (optional)
Cilantro or parsley for garnishing, optional
Prepare the Chicken
To start, pat draw the chicken breasts with a paper towel.
Slice the chicken breasts diagonally and pound each piece to about 1/2 inch thickness.
Cook’s Notes
This step is crucial and should not be skipped.
Pounding helps break down the muscle fibers in the chicken breast, making the meat more tender.
When you pound the cutlets to a uniform thickness, this promotes even cooking, ensuring that each bite is juicy and perfectly done.

Flattened cutlets have a larger surface area, allowing the spices and flour coating to adhere better.
When the entire surface area is evenly thick, it results in a beautifully fried exterior that is golden brown and crispy.

Season both sides of the cutlets with salt, pepper, and per two cutlets sprinkle 1 teaspoon garlic powder over both sides.
Breading the Cutlets
Add flour to 1 shallow dish (such as a pie dish) and beat the eggs with 2 teaspoons water in another swallow dish.
Dredge each cutlet in the flour, making sure it is fully coated and shaking off any excess.
Dip the floured cutlet into the beaten eggs, allowing any excess egg to drip off.
Fry the Cutlets
In a large skillet, heat a ⅓-inch layer of oil over medium-high heat. Once oil is hot enough that a pinch of flour sizzles when added to the pan, add coated cutlets.
Cook until golden brown and cooked through, 3-5 minutes per side. (If chicken begins to brown too quickly, lower that heat!)
Ensure the internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C). Transfer the cooked chicken to a paper towel-lined plate to drain any excess oil.
Make the Glaze
In a small saucepan, combine honey, sriracha sauce, soy sauce, rice vinegar, and sesame oil over medium heat.
Stir the mixture until well combined and heated through, bringing it to a gentle simmer for 2-3 minutes.
Remove from heat and set aside.
Glaze the Cutlets
Once the cutlets are cooked, drizzle the spicy honey sriracha glaze over them or toss the cutlets gently in the saucepan until they are well coated.
