Southern Style Garlic Green Beans with Bacon

Garlic sautéed green beans with crispy smoked bacon is an easy to make classic side dish. Serve with your favorite protein for a delicious dinner.



Southern Style Garlic Green Beans with Bacon

2 strips bacon (cut into ½ inch wide pieces)

2 tablespoon butter

½ tablespoon garlic, finely minced

2 lbs green beans, rinsed, drained, cut in half

1/4 – 1/2 cup broth of choice – beef, chicken, or vegetable (NOTE: choose broth depending on your main dish) – Link Here For Homemade Chicken Stock

salt & pepper, to taste, optional

Add the cut bacon to a large skillet over medium-high heat and cook until beginning to crisp, about 5-8 minutes.

Reduce the heat to medium, add the butter and garlic. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until lightly golden and fragrant.



Add the green beans and broth, then cook covered for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, or until the green beans are at your preferred level of tenderness.



Season with salt & pepper, to taste, optional.

Plate and serve with your favorite protein.
