Baked Ravioli

A Baked Ravioli is a splendid choice for a weeknight meal. All you need is 5 ingredients and prep is a breeze.

Get yourself a jar of your favorite marinara sauce, mozzarella or your favorite Italian cheese and a package of store-bought refrigerated ravioli.

Baked Ravioli is a versatile dish as you can choose from cheese ravioli or a protein mix like cheese and chicken, or a mix of cheese and vegetable such as spinach, butternut squash, artichoke, or mushroom.

Baked Ravioli

20 ounces refrigerated cheese ravioli

3 cups marinara sauce (about 24 ounces)

1 cup ricotta cheese

3 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

2/3 cup grated Parmesan cheese, divided

1 tablespoon chopped fresh basil or chopped fresh parsley, optional

Preheat oven to 350 degrees

Lightly oil a 3-quart baking dish (9×13 inch casserole). Set aside.

Cook ravioli according to package instructions.

In a small bowl, combine the ricotta cheese with 1/3 cup of the Parmesan cheese.

Spread 1 cup of marinara sauce in the bottom of the prepared baking dish. Top with half of the cooked ravioli and another 1 cup of marinara sauce.

Spoon the ricotta cheese mixture evenly over the sauce and top with 1 1/2 cups of mozzarella cheese.

Top the casserole with the remaining ravioli, sauce, mozzarella cheese, and the remaining 1/3 cup of Parmesan cheese.

Bake in the preheated oven for 30 to 40 minutes, or until browned and bubbling around the edges.

Garnish the baked ravioli with chopped basil of parsley, if desired.
