A baked French dessert not like Crème Burlee or Mexican Flan, like this Mexican Flan – Flan Napolitano, but rather fruit arranged in buttered pie dish with a thick custard-like cream filling.
Similar to a clafoutis, which is made with black cherries, a flognarde is made with apples, peaches, pears, plums, prunes, and blueberries.
This French sweet treat is a classic dessert that’s perfect for breakfast or after a meal. And the best part? It’s so easy to make.
Blueberry Lemon Flognarde
1 tablespoon unsalted butter
6 tablespoons sugar, divided
¾ cup fresh blueberries

3 eggs
1 1/3 cups milk
2/3 cup flour
1 tablespoon freshly grated lemon zest
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 pinch salt
½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
2 tablespoons powdered sugar
Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
Butter a 9-inch pie dish and arrange the blueberries to cover the bottom and sprinkle 3 tablespoons of sugar over the blueberries.
Add the remaining 3 tablespoons sugar, eggs, milk, flour, lemon zest, cinnamon, vanilla, and salt, to a food processor and process until smooth, about 1 minute.
Pour the egg mixture over the blueberries. Bake in preheated oven for 45-55 minutes or until firm and lightly browned. Let stand for 5 minutes then dust with powdered sugar. Slice and serve warm.
This dessert is very delectable to the palate and goes well with a good cup of coffee.
