
This field greens salad is fresh and flavorful. It contains sweet blood oranges, Cara Cara orange, strawberries, and toasted pecans. It is served with a light vanilla-accented vinaigrette.
This salad is a perfect starter, but it also makes a fantastic entree topped with sliced grilled chicken or steak.
The salad recipe calls for a 6 ounce package of “field greens.” They can also go by the name spring greens, mixed greens, or baby greens.
This mix consists of various tender leaf lettuces. They range in color from green to red and to purple.

Leafy Greens With Oranges Strawberries & Vanilla Vinaigrette
1/3 cup olive oil
3 tablespoons white wine vinegar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon sugar
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Mix all ingredients in a small bowl with a wire whisk until well blended. Set aside.

1 package (6 ounces) field greens or any type of mix greens, can also use spinach or arugula
2 blood oranges, peeled and sectioned * See Cook’s Notes Below
1 Cara Cara orange, peeled and sectioned
2 cups strawberry halves or slices
1/2 cup toasted pecan pieces

Start with 1/4 cup of vinaigrette and pour to the bottom of a large salad bowl. Add greens oranges, strawberries and pecans.

Next gently toss salad with vinaigrette until incorporated. Add more vinaigrette if need. With 1/4 cup at a time.
